Note: I start so many blogs and never finish them because the subjects are so deep and endless, that every new fact turns into a new section. I began this about a week after Charlie Kirk was killed, then forgot about it as it developed. The draft is about four times the size of this post so I cut it down to one complete thought and published it. Enjoy!
Charlie Kirk from a Black Man’s Perspective
As tragic as Charlie Kirk’s shooting was, it didn’t matter much to me. With that said, the American government’s enforcement of his near-deification was not only irritating, but watching it trample the Constitution to pressure society into pretending that most Americans share his values is appalling. These efforts were so blatant that they revealed the insecurity underlying this racist mentality. Their near success demonstrated that a significant portion of White America harbors enough racism to make it, or at minimum, made it appear successful.
Death is Normal to us
Watching Charlie Kirk get shot in the neck was mind-blowing. I couldn’t believe it! When I saw him slump over with blood gushing from his neck, my first thought was, “Please don’t let the killer be Black.” This reaction, rather than immediate concern for his life or for his family and friends, is not because I lack empathy for murder victims or the families who endure such loss, but because I have witnessed so much murder in my own life. This shit is normal in the ‘hood. I watched my friend’s little sister get shot in the head and curl up in fetal position as my mother tried to resuscitate her. I’ve heard the troubled breathing of men shot in the head, dead, yet their basic brain functions still controlling their breathing. I’ve seen people I knew bleed out and transition from a human I interacted with, to a lifeless body carried away by an ambulance. Why a person with a headshot would automatically curl into a fetal position, and why someone might still breathe with their brain hanging out, are ideas I had to explore at a young age and that my subconscious brain power sorted out during sleep or idle time. This should not be a reality in a first-class society
My friend “B” is in a wheelchair today because of a .380 bullet I saw him take to the spine. I witnessed my good
friend “G” get shot in the stomach over a car. He was later shot in the head and survived. On my first day at a new high school, I had a firsthand look at a murder. And when I say “firsthand,” I mean I had to push them off me as one guy stabbed the other over and over again. At 15, I was already so accustomed to murder as a norm that I didn’t think much of it when I found out the guy died. Today, kids merely present at a school where a shooting happens require counseling and therapy. I watched a murder happen physically against me and slept perfectly that night. 2nd class America certainly has a dramatically different experience that White America.
My point is that America relegates Dark people to the most dysfunctional parts of society, where violence and death are an accepted reality. Seeing Charlie Kirk shot in the neck was dramatic, but more in a “Have I got news for you” kind of way. However, his killing was neither new or anything close to the worst I’ve seen. The only unusual aspect was that a member of America’s protected class, prominent White people, was gunned down, seemingly by a sniper in broad daylight. So when media portrayed us minorities as unempathetic, it is actually White America’s own lack of empathy, failing to understand that society relegates Black people to social and economic conditions where murder is normal to us. For us, it is not about the fact of murder that is shocking, but rather the amazement of who got murdered that is extraordinary.
White America’s Racist Muscle Memory
America is an “Exploitation Nation.” None of the multitudes of outspoken White people truly care about Charlie Kirk as much as they care about how they can exploit the fact of his death. As soon as the news broke, White people from all around seized upon the incident to advance their own agendas. White racists, despite no Black 
people being suspected in the murder, immediately unleashed their muscle memory hatred towards Black people, threatening several Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and causing many to shut down over concerns about racist threats. Net Racist America (A term I explain here) clearly harbored a persistent desire to kill Black people, as, nothing about “sniper attack in Utah” indicates Black involvement. The last known Black sniper attack may have been the D.C. Snipers in 2002 or perhaps, Chris Dorner, the former LAPD, with a legitimate grievance with LAPD, who gave his life to clear his name. All the rest have been carried out by White men. In addition to the immediate and seemingly instinctive targeting of Black people, Right wing commentators immediately blamed the fictional “ANTIFA” group, calling for action against them. President Trump even attempted to designate ANTIFA as a terrorist organization. ANTIFA is not an organized group, the term is often used by law enforcement to justify punishing the “woke,” or, “Nigger lover” Whites.
Most disappointingly, watching the Republican Party, Donald Trump, and corporate America, collectively known as, “The Man,” use Kirk’s death to advance their agenda of White male domination made me lose hope for any redemption of the Framers’ American experiment; the experiment has failed. “The Man” easily bullied the 95 House Democrats into glorifying Charlie Kirk as well, revealing that Democrat resistance to White-male power is nominal at best. This commandeering of all factions of American political power to exalt White-male power deepened my despair for any hope of salvaging the Framers’ 1776 societal experiment.
Only White Martyrs Matter
As soon as they dragged Charlie Kirk’s lifeless body from the Turning Point USA tent, “The Man” immediately began enforcing a two-tiered martyr system. In this system White martyrs were beyond reproach, and 2ndclass martyrs, the Black ones, like Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Trayvon Martin and George Floyd, could be openly ridiculed. For example, although AI is fairly new, videos depicting Martin Luther King Jr. behaving like a monkey have recently been minted using this new technology.

While AI companies played catch up to prevent the debasing of a Black Civil Rights icon’s image, social media companies sprang into action to limit the reach of speech highlighting Charlie Kirk’s racist views describing MLK as “not a good person.” Following Republican pressure, I’m sure these companies suppressed the voices of people emphasizing that he had this racist view, then broadened the reach of people speaking favorably about Charlie Kirk. It’s not complicated; America has a de facto Whites only, First Amendment, free speech policy. In such an unempathetic social model environment, where social media trends included celebrating Trayvon Martin’s death by getting George Zimmerman, Martin’s killer to sign bags of Skittles, or, the “George Floyd” challenge, where White men simulated the position he was in when he took his last breath, suddenly “The Man” began rebuking First Amendment-protected Americans for even suggesting they understood why someone would want to kill Charlie Kirk, who said, “Civil Rights was a huge mistake.” “The Man” began punishing dissent through arrests and firings.
Tennessee police arrested former officer, Larry Bushart Jr. for posting a direct quote from Donald Trump. Larry who was known for his liberal views, often shared liberal memes on conservative pages. He posted a direct quote from Donald Trump on the local sheriff’s page. In response, Sheriff Nick Weems obtained a warrant from a judge to arrest Bushart. Unable to post the $2,000,000 bail, Mr. Bushart spent five weeks in jail before being released and having the felony charge dropped. Talk about using law to enforce a politically-motivated, unconstitutional agenda! UPDATE: Bushart sued and settled his case with Perry County for over $800,000. The Sheriff was willing to spend nearly a million dollars to suppress speech.
Government and Corporate America = “The Man”
In addition to abusing their roles as law enforcement leadership, many corporate leadership White supremacists fired employees for not mourning Charlie Kirk. Faculty members from Clemson University, Cumberland University, Middle Tennessee State University and several others dismissed staff for posting comments about Charlie Kirk. These authorities, whether government officials or school administration, were enforcing White supremacy by using authority to suppress dissenting opinions, thereby creating the resulting fraudulently low level of expressed resistance to Charlie Kirk’s ideology. Many people’s right to free speech was silenced. But even more troubling, many on the left, whether fearing “The Man’s” wrath or genuinely sympathetic to anti-Democrat, racist views, expressed support for Kirk’s ideology. Notably 90 Democrats joined Republicans in passing a resolution honoring Charlie Kirk. With friends like Democrats, who needs enemies?
Using government resources and the “bully pulpit” to compel unwilling Americans to mourn a man and his ideology is completely un-American. In fact, it is autocratic! The Framers designed this country to be “for the people,” which means the people are free to think and support whomever they choose. If the government forces “We the People” to support someone we truly don’t wish to, or to refrain from expressing reluctance towards supporting him, whether dead or alive, then the country is no longer “for the people;” it is,
“for the oppressors by way of the oppressed.”
Tragedy doesn’t change the Constitution! The First Amendment permits Americans to express whatever they want and support whomever they want without government retribution. But can we say this was the case with Charlie Kirk’s death? Much on par with the late 19th century, post re-construction, re-upping of White power that took a chance at true morality and squandered it on a renewed wave of anti-Black racism, Charlie Kirk’s death was merely another MAGA movement stepping stone to preserving a rapidly diminishing White-male power.
